If game companies would stop treating new games like CIA top secret projects then leaks would interest people less and happen less often. This isn't a direct shot at 343 but all game companies.
I get bummed out during dry news spells. To be honest it is a disservice to keep your fans in the dark for so long. I understand keeping all the big things hush hush but a hint every now and then, a tease, something to keep my interest would be VERY appreciated.
It's ridiculous dry spells of no information that are the reason why HaloGAF got banned. Fans with nothing to do (especially a year+ after a less than well received title) get unruly and start making up shit just to see the conversation continue.
