The Chief's story was done but they probably felt that they needed all the help that they could get to win over the fans.

Maybe I wont miss Cortana if I have Johnson's voice in my helmet. I'd like to see his take on, "I'd like to see YOU crack a 128,000-bit modulating encryption key."
