Without multiplayer, there may not be a 'live' option in the "I ran though it on Bungie.net" sense of the word. However, if you think back further than Myth, Marathon may hold the answers you want. To save in the Marathon series, one had to face a pattern buffer and hit the action key. Vidmasters ignore the pattern buffers when doing a run, making it easy to tell that their films were done 'live'. In a game like Oni, I wouldn't be surprised if you could only save at certain points during a mission.

As for the timer, if Oni has 'mission accomplished' screens or the like, I'm sure 'Time Taken' would be one of the statistics presented to the player. If not, the game might still keep track of time for its own purposes. For example, a mission for Konoko might be something like "You've got half an hour to infiltrate this base and get the special code from the Syndicate network so we can disarm the bomb. After disabling the main power, you have approximately three minutes of darkness in which to reach the mainframe, which is on its own power supply." Clearly, in a situaion like this it would be vital that Konoko know how much time she's taking to get things done.
