I don't mean to rain on your parade, but Bungie will not be producing this game. Take2 Interactive will, and I think everyone needs to keep that in mind.
The story has a chance to "thin-out" or not be quite as deep and the chance of new characters, not in keeping with the Myth tradition, could be introduced and effectively screw things up. That, and a myriad of other possibilites which are equally disturbing.
I hate to sound like an alarmist, but the realist in me can't help but worry. If Myth III were being developed in the hallowed halls of Bungie, I would be reacting much like you did: excitement and anticipation. However, since Bungie (and AFAIK, no one from the previous two development teams) will not be contributing to the creation of Myth III, I can't help but be skeptical.
Believe me, I WANT to be proven wrong. We have been so spoiled by what Bungie does to make their games, and what they do to make sure that we, the Bungie Community, can take their creations to the next level and beyond. Anything short of "Bungie-quality' will hurt the franchise, and I love it too dearly for that to happen.
Anyone thinking along the same lines or am I alone on a island with this one?
