From the AN4 report:

"Should we consider Poachers part of the Myth storyline? Thier flavors explain why firearms dont show up in the regular myth plot. If we dont consider Poachers part of the storyline, should we still regard the Dwarven King mentioned in thier flavor as real?"

My answer: yes to all. I would think Ares also agrees, since a number of significant units in the old CoD plan were based on that flavor.
