Sorry, but the "vatar" part is purely coincidental. The word "Avatara" comes from "avatar" meaning an incarnation of a god. The "vatar" from Illuvatar means father in the language Tolkien made, which was highly based on Germanic/Scandinavian languages, which all basically descend from the same root language. Does it surprise anybody that "vatar" in Tolkien's language means father, while "vater" is German for father?
