Hot new development in the twin bridges megabattle. It turns out that instead of using a pen to keep the Marines back for battle, you can simply use a blockade. Get them behind it and you're able to fly off to finish setting up the battle - the Marines aren't bright enough to 'go around' in their desire to follow you. They'll stay in place, patiently waiting until you return and start the battle. This spares you the fiddly task of getting them into a pen. But the MAIN benefit is that blockades are a fantastic source of battle fun. I've been having a great time with this, especially with a blockade across the middle of the trough. It was carnage central down there! You can also have a blockade across the left or right side of the battlefield. I've updated my account with all the details: check out Blockades and Blockade battle plans.
But that's not all. Having recently learnt of ways to delay a checkpoint, I've made some applications here. It makes some of the setting up work easier, and even leads to some new creative potential, allowing you to create conveniently replayable variations of a save, an easy way of broadening your battle experiences. I've also improved or added many other things here and there, in a big rewrite.
I'm not sure many people have gone to the effort of setting up this megabattle since I advertised it last November, but at least it just got a bit easier. And with all that blockade battling, it just got even better.
