Captain Spark and davidfuchs pretty much said it - it's very close to being done for. Competitive Halo Infinite is winding down this year. There's supposedly going to be a major announcement in October for a Halo: CE remake but I am rather out of the loop on that.

Would the remake of what is now a 25-year old game bring back the same level of excitement and intensity to the Halo franchise? No, clearly not. But I do think it would be a good sendoff to the franchise for all of us who've been part of this journey and this community.

Like Chaucer said, "But at the laste, as every thing hath ende, She took hir leve, and nedes wolde wende."

To which I assume Master Chief would reply, "Wake me...when you need me."
