: We need a new Burnout.

Sounded like a mixture of game lines and brand new lines. It was hard to tell because the hosts were chatting. Sounded like Jen and it was nice to have Cortana on your side and not an asho;el.
What it needed was to break the "race" into parts where you almost make it to a Pelican but it has to dust-off because the LZ is too hot or the Pelican actually gets destroyed just before you reach it. Pauses to shed a tear for Foe-Hammer (it's too soon scarab, too soon...) Maybe they had something like that but I couldn't hear what was being said for half of the time.
That skybox was lovely. I liked the summer day/alpine skies in the original game (CE) and this skybox reminded me of that.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Halo looks like when it finally comes out. The Slipspace Engine trailer was very promising.
But the Warthog play has been broken since H2 and really need fixing. Even with a pretty engine it will probably suck to actually get behind the wheel.
Those are the must haves.
I would also like to be able to switch between wheel and gun really quickly. H5 had a half assed version of this but it didn't work very well.
I'd like a one button toggle that doesn't even bring the vehicle to a halt. The character in the driver seat turns and leans out of the vehicle and grabs the side of the roll-bar and swings out and around to the back (if memory serves this is already implemented. The gunner hurdles the top of the roll-bar and crashed down into the driver seat.
If there is no passenger then the Hog carries on moving but slows down as if the driver has come off the gas.
If there is a passenger then maybe he can at least steer whilst the swap happens.
If the wheel was replaced by a joystick/throttle in the center "arm-rest" then the vehicle could be driven from either front seat. Would that be useful in multiplayer?
Of course, in campaign, anything that involves NPC driving is bound to end in tears... so I'm uncomfortable even suggesting that they drive. But if they do get behind the wheel (If I've suffered brain damage and have elected to make an NPC take the wheel) then I want to be able to toggle vehicle movement. If I tell an NPC to stop driving then they stop-permanently, they don't offer to drive, don't pester me with requests to drive and only move the vehicle when I tell them too. Even if we die to a Wraith blast, I would still prefer that to being driven off a cliff or jammed against a rock (the only rock on the map).
Hey, 343, if anyone is listening, I offer my services as a Campaign, Warthog game-play tester.
