You put me in mind of an opinion piece I read a few weeks back, from Timothy J. Seppala at engadget. It's amusingly titled 'I played through 'Halo 5: Guardians' solo and hated it', which may give you a rough idea of the angle.
In railing against the revival system he says "All told, that results in anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds of being completely infantilized as the battle rages on." Now, I haven't played the game myself, but from the footage I've seen, I think that word 'infantilized' really hits the nail on the head - and the prospect is not appealing to me at all. He goes on: "This revive mechanic brings the game to a grinding halt and the mandatory pause hinders any sense of low-risk experimentation in changing up tactics." Sounds like another good point to me.
I thought his piece was a good read, and I appreciated the directness. Felt like I could relate to that.
