Does that mean 343 jackals are different since they look like little t-rex's?

Judging by 343's record of completely changing the look of everything, we really can't say if that is the lab or not.

I'm guessing since the Book is the Reach Legendary edition Diary, and the storage cylinder being the same, that it is the lab under Sword Base.
