Honestly there's not too much in terms of interplay. They really just gloss over the Chief returning after so long, which is a shame. The actual plot arc is fun if comic book pulpy, and you get more Halo Monitor shenanigans, which I always love.

Escalation has better stories and better arcs than "The Last 72 Hours".
