: I don't mean any disrespect, but customs are really supposed to be just
: that-- custom. Different from the norm--something that isn't preset by
: Bungie(or 343i).
I thought Tex was more talking about how they don't really take suggestions, but that part is relevant too, there's basically a fixed set of things that might played. I actually was surprised how much the gametypes varied.
: Something unpredictable and unique, and clearly user-created.
: It was fun (for the most part), but I was disappointed--
: I thought we were going back to Reach to celebrate some of the incredible
: things we'd all come up with/found/remixed.
Someone already addressed this, but you played at one or two of these before, it's the same deal. Also, it's called Classic Customs.
: No offense, but if I wanted to do the built-ins, I'd go into Big Team Battle.
: All the gametypes-- save for Shotgun CTF-- are actually in that playlist.
The idea with this one is more to play with people who are emphatically not randoms, and to go along with that, mostly play the old standbys. Familiarity, nostalgia, coming home again, whatever you want to call it, that's one of the goals. You might have missed it, early on we played Ultra MLG Vehicles, which is very much not a standard gametype or map, but hearkens back to A) a time when the community was focused on Reach and B) previous Classic Customs Nights and TSD customs.
I for one am glad it exists.
