Seriously, I had an expired card that was linked to a closed bank account (the bank confirmed that MS was getting no money or over-drafting it) but Xbox Support refused to take the card off the account without replacing it(I didn't have a new card, so I couldn't add one...) and kept trying to charge the expired card, even after I called and tweeted support telling them that the card was expired.

I got almost two years of free gold because they kept charging a non-existent card. I got a few e-mails notifying me that the card was expired and I contacted them through the return address but got told the same "add a new card" bs and refusal to remove the dead card. :\

They finally turned off my gold a few months ago, but I've been getting by with old promo cards inside game cases and one very generous Canadian. <3

So while a free month of gold sounds awesome, I am not ever putting another credit card on my Xbox Live account because of their refusal to remove it. That old expired card is still linked to my account but won't work for purchases or anything. I never used it after it expired anyways.
