Re: VENERANCE - SPARTAN-II content creation guide

: Amazing job. I've read all the source material before, of course, but putting
: it together with the images of current humanity's best and the
: reinforcement of the idea that a Spartan II would be far beyond that out
: of his armor
was a lot of fun. I'm left with the thoughts that a single
: Spartan II in armor would be worth a hundred or maybe a thousand regular
: soldiers, and that watching a Spartan II punch his way into a tank seems
: pretty ho-hum compared to what they might really be able to do!

Dude... Thinking about what they can do, and more to the point, figuring out what the limits are to what they can do... that is one of the best daydreaming sessions that I could ask for. :)

In a way, to me they are us (humanity), inadvertently exploring the uppermost limits of what we as human beings might hope to become. Their lives seem to be the result of someone being in the middle of answering the question: "What, exactly, are our limits?"

: : I've been somewhat down on Halo for a while now but this brings me back to
: why the Halo universe is so awesome if only it was played around in
: correctly. :)

This.

THIS.

That is what drives me, Ragashingo.

I've never been able to care about any fictional universe as much as I've been able to care about Halo (believe me, it's not for lack of trying: I have tried to care about others as much as I can). But Halo sits in the center of a sort of massive, super complicated Venn diagram of things that I care about or find interesting. And nothing else satisfies anywhere near as much.

The reasons that you have been down on Halo for a while now is why I posted that first quote in the original post. And the fact that I have felt feelings that I imagine are very similar to your own are why I posted the 2nd quote in the original post.

That we have had any part in helping to remind you of the heights of former glories, or perhaps even in rekindling joyous passions long dormant, give me warm fuzzy feelings at a depth that is difficult to articulate.
