Yeah, I figured that the T-designation would reflect the date that the UNSC got a close look at one, and in fact be used solely by Humans. Six years between first encounter and taking one apart seems a little excessive, but Ghosts are such fragile things. Capturing one and getting it back to base intact has to be a chore.
