So much story potential lost

In Response To: Halo 3 - Cut Mission Dialog Pt. 2 (gamerguy2002)

What were Bungie thinking in cutting alot of these scenarios? Makes me even more annoyed that the Covenant Schism was sidelined in Halo 3. Makes me wonder what else Bungie isn't telling us about what they cut/rewrote with Halo 3.
