I assume you got the digital download, so this won't help you. For those that bought the disc, disconnect from the internet and install the game, then reconnect to get the update.

Unless they've changed it, even if you have a disc, it will install from the server. When i first got my box this summer, i tried installing Assassin's Creed black Flag. It was taking FOREVER, like hours. My wife noticed that the internet was bogged down, so i stopped the install, and unplugged my box from the internet. It installed in about 20-30 minutes, then i had to get the updates. I think that microsoft (in their infinite wisdom) decided that even if you had the disc, it would just go ahead and download the most current version of the game for you, never mind if you have a slow connection or data caps.

I installed the MCC from disk yeserday, and it took about 45 minutes, and then another hr to download the 15 GB update. So in less than 2 hrs, I had the MCC installed. Of course, going forward i won't have the luxury of being able to play without the disk like a lot you will.
