On the plus side they're almost impossible to headshot from behind. In SWAT CTF I'd steal the flag and run away while looking at the ground, thus making it difficult for the enemy to headshot me. Overall, I've never noticed any performance difference from when I played as a Spartan and when I played as an Elite. Of course, that's just me.
