It be really nice if we could set custom settings and preferences before going into match making. That way I could say. I am in the mood for CTF on Halo CE with 8-16 players, and it could find players with similar interests. I can only imagine how complicated that could get through, but I feel match making with so many games and maps is not the best solution for this game. Personally, I have 0 interest in playing any H2 Classic (never liked it when it was popular as I went and just kept playing H1 on PC), nor do I have much interest in playing H4, (I've played a lot of it over the past 2 years) so I can see myself going "meh" when those get selected in matchmaking. But hey, at least I have dedicated H2A, HCE, and H3 playlists which I will probably stick to.
