I love the story that's told between these 25 pages or so, but oh my god is it over in the blink of an eye. The second there is great tension from a soon approaching tragedy is the second before it's all over. We barely get time to consume what could have been a drawn out, harrowing tale of desperation and sacrifice. Instead, we go from Hood nearly dying to Clayton's station seized and Gajat's corvette destroyed in some 10 pages. I love the art, but this condensed comic format is kinda killing whatever serious enjoyment I could have had otherwise in a novel or even a dedicated, longer graphic novel.

But at least we got to see the Spirit of Fire. Well, at least THE Spirit of Fire. :P

I'm thrilled to see the New Colonial Alliance is finally coming out of the shadows. Earth's been getting a little too up its own ass these past couple centuries for my taste and needs a thorough domestic beating.
