For my mom's iPad, I downloaded the PDF and put it in iBooks - you lose the spread-layout, but it's quicker for her. But I'm sure an actual comic-reader is probably better. Just glad you got there in the end!
The store and delivery of the content is definitely something I'm listening to feedback for, as I'm really forcing the entrepreneur in me out for this, and though I've got some limitations in skill and resources at the moment, I hope to keep growing its options and effectiveness. Right now, I'm just worried about hitting the simple foundation of it!
: Very interesting read, and I'm liking where you're taking the story. The last
: character introduced certainly has piqued my interest, and the world feels
: pretty fully realized. I only wish we could have spent more time in the
: Commonwealth, exploring some of the history, locations, and characters,
: but I imagine there is only so much you can create in a limited time. I
: think it's definitely a better idea to hit the ground running and have a
: release schedule that's a little less comfortable, as you mentioned in the
: ending section (makes me think of this video, which you might take some
: inspiration from if you haven't seen it already:
: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDjrOaoHz9s ). Also loving what you're
: doing with that feedback bit in the end. For the record, any
: communications I make regarding Mayflower can be used from now until
: forever. I don't want to have to post that every time I drop some feedback
: on a new issue, but you can feel free to email me for clarification if you
: like.
Oh, no, the Commonwealth is a huge part of Mayflower! :) There's just only so much to get in 26 pages. Each issue will continue to grow these worlds, and the Commonwealth controls a huge swath of the Sol System. I'm also working on a huge lore-section to add to the site next week that will also go more in-depth with its history and inner workings. And that section should grow with each issue, as the story unlocks more of the Sol System.
Oh, and thanks for the vid!
: If I could make a recommendation, I feel like the art could be a little
: bolder. Brighter colors, whiter whites, blacker blacks… I think it could
: use a little extra push to really have that contrast that will make it
: pop! :)
: Then again, the worn out, almost-faded colors might be an intentional effect
: on your part. You're the creator, and certainly trained in art to a higher
: degree than myself, so do with that feedback what you will...
Hmm, I actually thought I was hitting a lot of those bold stylings, so thanks for the feedback! Maybe "faded-bold", or "realistic bold" is what I'm going for, heh. I've often described this comic as if Christopher Nolan adapted a Ralph McQuarrie painting. I also need to keep testing out different folks' platforms/monitors to make sure I'm simply conveying my intentions correctly through the technical side of it . :)
: But yeah, very interested in what's coming in the future. I'm not much of a
: comic guy, but you've got a devoted buyer in me as long as I'm aware of
: each new issue. :)
I love to hear this!
