Dusk could have been good from a naming convention to tie in to the first level, but I think Midnight has a much more ominous literary effect than 'Dusk'. Used like 'midnight in the garden of good and evil', or representing darkest before the dawn, or the climax/end of one 'day' turning into a new day... basically Midnight representing a major conflict or ultimate climax of the story.
That's how I interpreted it. Like, ok, everything that's happened up until now has culminated in this confrontation. Finish this, and a new day begins. This is it. Do or die.
