Spartan Assault... on a Mac?

Kinda. I'm virtualizing a Windows 8.1 preview in VMWare Fusion. The VM is pretty light-weight: 1 core, 2GB RAM, 3D acceleration enabled, running on a mid-2013 MacBook Air (with the new Haswell i5 and Intel HD 5000). I really wanted to try this game, and not owning a Windows device, this was my only option. I was concerned about performance, but it's actually running really well.

[VirtualBox has issues with graphics acceleration, in case you were trying to get it done totally free.]

As for the game itself, it's pretty fun. It cries out for controller support (hello, it's called a dual stick shooter so give me dual sticks) but it's neat overall. Not thrilled by the micro-transactions for weapons that could materially impact the flow of battle (as opposed to visual changes, or additional levels costing extra) but that's fairly vogue right now. Not an excuse, but I expect it anyway.
