There's an entire layer of gameplay that's lost (or disfigured/mutated) with the addition of always-on flag indicators. "I can run full speed and shoot!? Okay - cool. Oh... every enemy knows exactly where I am and I can't drop the flag to use this railgun I have in my back pocket? I didn't even mean to pick the flag up. My teammate was holding the flag near me and just got melted! I am now the color-guard leader, I guess." The new features feel somewhat conflicting... maybe a little too convoluted.
How fun was it to grab the bomb and slide behind one or two guys while your teammates were distracting them and pop 'em in the back of the neck or do a ninja bomb plant? Or drop the bomb and join in the team-kill to clear out their base?
The issues with available gametypes in H4 have been discussed and heard by 343. I hope they spend their time on giving us the tools to make gametypes rather than focus on 'filler' such as a new set of knee pads or killer plasma pistol skins!
I agree with Pete. Different strokes for different folks. Just give us the options/tools.
Nonetheless, I still enjoy H4.
