: 1) Start Button > Resign
: 2) Self-destruct all bases & leave all units to die (aka speed up your
: Defeat)
: And once either of these options is performed, it brings up the
: "Defeated/Resigned" screen, but you still have the option to
: view the ongoing battle if your team mates haven't finished. Pressing 'A'
: gives you stats (which are all blank since the game isn't over), and...
: 3) Press 'B' to Quit and get moved back to the Lobby.
: So which of these voids out the points I earned? Once I'm completely

: quit to the lobby?
: I've read that quitting (not sure which method) only voids the 0.2x losing
: bonus you would have received if you stayed till your team completely
: loses. But you still keep your base score and bonus multiplied points.
: I'm going to pay closer attention to this when I play tonight, see if I can't

I'm pretty sure you only void points when you resign from the game, not when you are defeated (even if you speed the defeat yourself).
I'm sure this is the case because I remember a big fuss on the Halo Wars forums about it and whats considered good etiquette in an RTS, such as for-fitting the game when you know you have lost. That may be the norm for say, hardcore star craft players but not Halo wars. So, when it was implemented it raised a stink because some players still expected to get the points while others wanted the quiters to be punished.
If you are defeated you don't have to stay in the lobby and watch the other players finish to get your points- whatever you earned is set after that.
I know that in one of the last patches Robot was able to apply to Halo Wars MM made it so that if an opponent does ANY damage to a building and you self destruct that building, they automatically get the points. They did this because early on players would deny their opponents points if they were losing.
Man...its been a long time since I've been on Halo Wars forums so I could be wrong on some of that but I'm pretty sure you get dinged when you quit out vs losing. I dunno if there is a site where you can still track your career score or if it even updates frequently. After they reset the leader board for what felt like the 100th time I stopped caring. :/
