Microsoft should be looking into this sort of thing as well. They've got to keep community input strong.

Valve are taking advantage of the fact that their games can run on PCs. Console games probably wont but I wonder if a forge like subset of a game could be driven by a PC with an Ethernet connection. But devs would have to use a common engine :-(
