100% agree. Traviss continues to disappoint me, and I don't care for much of the direction the series has taken lately, but this Novel, singlehandedly, is the most beautiful, intense, and incredible piece of fiction to be added to the series.

Very true! The fate of the few remaining Forerunners is implied, but never truly shown. There's certainly a chance that a few of them are still around somewhere, Spark seems to believe such in Primordium. The "Great Journey" is never mentioned, which was a little disappointing, but I could certainly see that coming to the forefront in future works. Hell, there could still be more Forerunner novels to come.
