: One thing I was looking forward to is finally solving the mystery of what the
: Primordial said to humans that made them commit suicide. Unless i missed
: it, i don't think this was ever answered. I thought Ur-Didact was going to
: reveal it, but he cuts his interview with Catalog short even after he was
: forced to reveal more of his story than he wanted. Then at the end i
: thought the Lord of Admirals was sent to reveal the horror of these words,
: but instead he revealed another secret.
: Could it be just the fact that the flood was as horrifying as it was to begin
: with, but then learning that the flood was a manufactured weapon used by
: the Precursors (and likely never to be defeated) that drove people mad?
: I'm not sure I would expect that news to make people take their lives.
: Any other thoughts/opinions?
I think it was deliberately left open for interpretation, but my sense is with the Didact's damage that the Primordial simply manipulated them by telling them the worst thing it could, the thing that many of them couldn't take. It might have been the truth, it might have been lies. It's better not knowing.
