On Heroic this is basically the same way I tackle this area. I've always been thankful that I can shoot while reloading the shotgun....that feature has saved my hide on countless occasions. On Legendary, I usually cower and crouch in fear next to the opposite door that 343 goes through. Sometimes I'll plasma hop a plasma grenade into the enemies or just toss frags doing my best not to be seen.

When I play the Library on the PC version, I swapped out the AR's projectile with the flame thrower and adjusted it so it shoots a concentrated ball of fire. I also swap out the Carrier Forms with the armed Master Chief and when he dies his 4 frag grenades cause some spectacular explosions. There is also and strange and funny animation that occurs when I swap out the Carrier Form with the Chief. He stops walking and does a kind of Harlem Shake dance.
