In Response To: If I may interject... (ChrisP)

Hmm interesting response, a few points here.

A) aquiring the full rights to myth would not only be impossibly expensive it would not lead to any real results. Consider if I (or any individual) were actually able to purchase the rights in-full. Chances are the expense in time and money merely to acquire the rights would likely consume all availble resources. In such a case, from what I can see, owning the rights is probably a counterproductive venture.

B) If I was in this "for the money" then the entire concept of reviving the community or the game would be pointless. This is not a capitalistic venture, I'm not here to soclit talent to make money, if I was, I wouldn't expect to gain any headway or credibility with the people here. My intentions are not entirely driven by personal profit motives. Many of us care a common interest in seeing the game and the story continue on and regain a larger fan base.

C) I think that while my time here has been informative I've kind of gotten away from the point of me even posting to this site. What I mean is, with my small ammount of funds its not just a question of what can be done, but weather or notthe ammount of money and time I could contribute would actually be worthwhile. Throwing money at a problem doesn't usually lead to a real solution (read: public education), but it can be tempting to just burn money in a chaotic fashion and hope to achieve something. I am wondering if my ten to fifteen thousand dollars of investment could actually make a positive difference here, or is the sheer cost of any real attempt at reviving the franchise so far above what I could contribute as to make it a moot point.

D) The fact that I'm not a very old and well connected member of this community does put me at a disadvantage, but I have taken a brief evaluation of whats going on, and while it is all very good and worthwhile, it is mainly done by and for members of the community that have been around for some time. In a sense its like a closed, close-knit clique. I certainly appreciate the patches to Myth 3, for example, but this is mainly because I've enjoyed all the games. Those who know Myth cherish it, somehow there has to be a way to actually bring more people in, question is, am I or any of us the ones to do it.

Anyway thats all I've got right now, I appreciate all the responses, its been fun so far.
