: I'm currently making a map, but whenever I select my
: color map as the overhead map in fear, it crashes
: myth. The fear documentation doesn't say anything
: about what size the pictures should be; can someone
: help me? (The same thing happens when I select an
: image for the netgame preview, even though it meets
: the size and resolution specs)
you'll need to make a new collection for both of these tasks.
first, create a small version of your colour map (preferably of maximum dimensions 128 pixels either way) and create the preview picture (dimensions 377x190).
make sure the bitmaps you save are in uncompressed windows bitmap format, with the first three colours anything that doesn't occur in the rest of the image (unless you want specific parts to be transparent in the overhead map. pain pixels with that colour. don't have that colour in your pregame or you'll get nasty black spots wherever you put it.)
now go to www.vistacartel.com/myth/ and get jade for either mac or pc (whichever you happen to be on) and install it. now create a new collection and select the bitmap for your overhead map. give it a name and a unique four letter tag id code (beneath the name). save it in the following path: myth 2/local/collections/
repeat this with your pregame picture, making sure both the name and tag id are different.
select these tags in your mesh tag and it should work.
good luck!
