: GURPS says he was also the second-or-third most powerful
: sorcerer of his heyday, which was back in the Wind
: Age. So it seems like he and Myrdred have always been
: jockeying for second place, after whichever sorcerer
: is supreme at the time, be it a Leveller, a Great
: Hero, or Mazzarin.
What makes you think Myrdred was around in the Wind Age? (Yes, I have been talking with Pfhor, I know all about your crazy plans...). He is described as an "Avatara of the Wolf Age". I don't believe he's really all that old. He's probably a little bit older than Connacht, at the most. The Watcher, OTOH, was around to kill Mazzarin, who had been dead at least decades before Connacht came about, and I get the feeling it was even earlier than that. Note how GURPS mentions how freakin' OLD the Watcher is, but doesn't make any specific refferences to Shiver or Myrdred (both around in Connacht's time) being particularly old?
: The Watcher's big, but not *that* big. :-) He looks
: completely human to me--even what we can see inside
: his helmet--and the Callieach were most likely as
: alien as the Trow and other Elder Races. But I suppose
: he *could* have been.
Hey, that's not much crazier than your [blam]
[Forrest collapses on the floor as a line of frozen mercury arcs from Pfhor's bow through his head and platters FOBO across the static fields guarding his Marathon Scrapbook and Pirated Halo Beta).
