I think he was the most powerful of the fallen and the nine.... Balor was only such a good fighter with more artifacts... :)
Mazzarin (i think) was supposed to be better, and the Calliach were powerful.
btw, since the calliach were great wizard giants, we never saw the watchers face and the watcher WAS huge, couldn't The Watcher have been a Calliach?
