Yes, but that assumes that he *will* become a Leveller. If the cycle is to be least affected, he should just get knocked off sometime soon so that a new Hero and Leveller can arise in a thousand years. For all we know, the Total Codex tells him that he's gonna be an all-around great guy until he gets his limbs pulled off by fifty Myrk Giants in an ambush by The Lurker.

Also, he can't have actually read about his fate in the Codex. No one can. Even Mazzarin could only get pretty close to it. Alric's probably trying to assemble a general picture of his destiny through scraps of information randomly retrieved from the Codex, but he'll never be completely sure.
