We do all these--in the Mythworld, at least, along with Dwarves and assorted other creatures--and we don't have 100 babies each. :-)

The life of a Large Myrkridia, according to GURPS, consists of alternately wandering around alone or talking to other Large Myrkridia, and returning to the pack to lead it. This doesn't seem to fit well with a role of permanent and large-scale motherhood. Also, were Large Myrkridia the only females, they'd be immensely valuable and wouldn't get torn apart by other Myrks at the "first sign of weakness."
A pouch would explain why the Giants have those spare tires, though. "Wow, that Myrk Giant is fat--I mean radiant! Radiant!" :-)
