I don't agree with you. Remember, the shades are dead avatara brought back to life. So I don't think a dead avatara would have a choice to change into a shade or not. Besides, Turquine couldn't be evil at his lifetime, because avatara are "good" - considering the fact, that in deed Turquine WAS an avatara. Or could it be that not all shades are avatara?
