: Well if we can't assume that the Myrk females are in the
: same packs with the Myrks, which would result from the
: assumption that they are very similar looking, we must
: then conclude that the Myrk females are exactly where
: Human females are: in the home, protecting the
: children.
: Soulblighter almost definitely has female Myrks, he
: wouldn't let such a powerful weapon go to waste. It's
: possible he keeps them from battle, in a hidden area
: or something where they 'raise' myrk babies.
Actually I have a threory that the female are the Myrk Giants, read it a few posts down. But if you don't believe that, then why would you think that they _aren't_ very similar looking? The are carnivorous mammals after all and as someone pointed out it's pretty hard to tell the difference between female and male nomadic mammals. Humans and monkeys are abnormal in that they _are_ noticable different. Just look at felines, canines, or any of the others.
Now my argument against why the myrk females are "in the home, protecting the children." Aside from the misogynistic implications (forgivable since Myth seems to be generally like that) this just doesn't make sense. Myrkridia are a race of nomadic pack oriented carnivores. There is no reason why they would have a "home" in the first place. They would, if they didn't have an organization like the "queen" thing I suggested, probably act like ghols in the raising of their young. They birth them, the pack pauses for a few days, then they start running around again with either the baby in the mother's arms or running beside them (depending on how fast they mature and how fully formed they are on birth).
Or if they mimic pack carnivores even more , they would have a period in which the whole pack stops and beds down while the young mature. The males however would _not_ abondon the females, it's not a good practice to leave the young with only a few protectors. I don't subscribe to this because the myrks seem too aggressive to stop like this. Thus I believe more in the "keep moving" attitude or the Queen theory.
