You've answered your question already. No one wants to see myrk genetils and bungie probably didn't want to commit financial suicide.
Real quick about Disc's question of Damas: Im saying hes smart, not dumb. Since he fought along with Connacht then he must have fought myrks and if hes anything like Balor was then he probably doesn't have much of a liking for them, but hes more practical then Balor. He knew that using undead wouldn't win any war so why not use a willing enemy? After SB wins he could allow his weapon to die out rather then fight them.
