Ummm... Why would the most strong be males. In fact many, many species have larger and more dominant/aggressive females because they protect the young and scavenge for food. Myrks could be operating on a sort of "hive" like thing. The Myrk Giants are female with a bunch of weaker males running around. Every so often an egg in eutero somehow becomes a queen. When this baby is born (I'm assuming that they live-birth since they appear to be mammals), it's raised until it gets a bit too big, then takes off on its own to found another pack. Soulblighter could have easily kept this instict in check however, so thus we see the Myrk Giants working together. It's also generally assumed that they are smarter, so perhaps he just told them, "don't steal eachother's males and there'll be a lot in store for you if I win."
As for the non-breeding thing. Why on earth would SB do something like that? I mean I admit that he's not too smart of a fellow, but why would he want get rid of the race he won with. It seems a much better plan to have around in case the light ever rises again.
Anyway, I'm getting a bit too cloe to Myrk sex for my own comfort so I'll leave you at that.
