: North" in the prologue. In the Encyclopedia, I've
: classified them fractally; the Great War was 2431 to
: 2481, the War in the West was the last 17 years of
: that, and the War in the North was the last 7 years of
: that.
Okay, so The War in the West was the Dark's consolidation of the lands west of the cloudspine? And the part of the war the Narrator participated in was the War in the North, as in The Free Cities of the North? So the wars of the leveller don't take place every thousand years exactly, the thousand year comet only appears at the climax of the war in which one side or the other wins?
