In Response To: Re: undead vs. Undead, plus a MUNKI and a BOOKKEEP (Forrest of B.org)

: GURPS says he looked, but never found it.

GURPS says a lot of things. Much of it is proposed ideas presented as fact, which is why I consider it deutero-canonical (which means second-canon, not 'not canon', so don't tirade about how it is canon, because I know that, just that it comes to a far second when placed next to Myth flavors and texts.).

: Bahl'al was a great necromancer. He invented Thrall. He
: made lots of them, and was a Generally Evil Guy™. But
: of course, no archmage is ever satisfied with their
: existing levels of power, so this great necromancer
: goes searching for the Dream of Unlife, which is the
: most powerfull necromantic spell in existance. He
: never found it, though.

I think that also, but: he invented thrall after he found the dream of unlife. However what you say is a valid arguement, so don't think I'm completely close-minded. In fact, I am wavering (which is a miracle, I'm so stubborn) on my staunch opinion on a different aspect of the game, perhaps I'll tell about it later.

: I believe this reflects another in-development story
: change; originally all spells were called Dreams. Now
: Dreams are simply the most powerfull of spells, the
: shattered fragments of Wyrd's One Dream.

Once again, good debate: perhaps that GURPS stuff about the One Dream shattering is true, but I still by default assume that is the author's own idea, used to try to promote 3rd party solos using his GURPS format, with searching for the Dreams and Rune Stones as a possible objective, a "seed" he's giving us ideas for.
