: Yeah, I'm almost done the first book and I've noticed so
: many similarities it's sad. I thought Bungie was being
: original but they just ripped stuff from the Black
: Company =)
: Though now I wish they went all the way and had the
: Fallen Lords fly around on magic carpets. That would
: have been 1337 ;)

Two things:
1. I ENVY you right now! I wish I could read the entire series over again fresh without any prior knowledge of the storylines. I've read the entire series cover-to-cover no less than 4 times and it still draws me in whenever I crack one of the books. Enjoy!
2. I think they borrowed a lot from the stories, in a way, as a homage to the Black Company Series. There's OBVIOUSLY many connections and similarities between the two (the narrator = annalist, The Fallen Lords = Ten Who Were Taken, etc...) but its different enough and has enough original content (which has absolutely no parallel to BC) to still be separate.
I'm glad Bungie used BC as a tool when crafting the story of Myth. Now that I'm wrapping up Return of the King (polishing off the Lord of The Rings, which Bungie borrowed from immensely as well) I'm looking for something else to read. MB I'll just read the first book again to get my fix :P
Enjoy the books and pray with me that Cook will return with another installment (even tho rumor has it that "Soldiers Live" was the final chapter).
