: Yeah I think thats the way it is with most nonhuman
: races, they're neutral and will side with whatever
: side, light or dark that isn't trying to kill them. I
: suspect the same thing with the dwarves as with the
: fir'bolg except for the few who stayed in the west,
: going back to their own feud with the Ghols and the
: Mauls, after the war they were just banished back to
: the Blind Steppes and the Trow who Ally with whoever
: they owe a debt to or proves themselves worthty of
: their help.
Actually you're mistaken here. The dwarves have been allied or involved with humanity for ages. If you believe forrest, they built half of Muirthenme for the Cath Bruig. Also there was no mention of any alliance between the Dwarves and the West, it was just assumed that they were with the Light. I'd imagine that in the time of the Cath Bruig the Emphors and the Bruig were very close sister nations which traded and fought along side eachother. As for the dwarves going back to their homelands, they indeed did, but just because those were their homelands and it's customary to live there. You notice that there was never any question that they wouldn't be with the Light when SB arrived on the scene.
The fir'Bolg are a different matter. They were at war with humanity and just recently allied. The Mauls allied with Soulblighter because he promised them the conquered human lands as spoils of war. Theirs was more of a mercenary alliance than one of need. The Trow are neutral except, as you said, to honor a debt or join a cause they deem worthy.
