Yeah, I'm almost done the first book and I've noticed so many similarities it's sad. I thought Bungie was being original but they just ripped stuff from the Black Company =)
Though now I wish they went all the way and had the Fallen Lords fly around on magic carpets. That would have been 1337 ;)
