Balor didn't make the Devoid or kill all those Trow; that was the Callieach. Balor imprisoned the Trow much later, and they figured they owed him for not just killing them.
As for Myrdred; apparently his wiliness and Mad Poetic Skillz
impress the Trow. They find him an interesting and generally cool guy. So they're more willing to listen to him than to most humans. It's not like they had any loyalty to the Dark, or a particular hatred of the Light; their allegiance was to Balor personally.
