Or maybe burning idols just look cool :) Perhaps it has something to do with Shiver under the bridge. Its also strange that there are so many faces in the ground on that level. Maybe some ancient tribe lived there along with the Forrest Giants. Another Fir'Bolg tribe could have lived there long ago, but fled or died out.
