Yep. That's what happens. You don't think Thrall forge their *own* axes, do you? Any necromancer worth his salt has the money to buy a few thousand axes, or hire or force a few dozen (not hundred) smiths to make them.

Who said anything about melting things down? Ghols just pick up sharp objects and hit people with them. Mauls collect fragments of armor and wear them. That's the point of scavaenged weaponry--you don't have to spend time making it.

Yes, scavenging takes time--but for Ghols and Mauls, scavenging and collecting weapons and armor is part of life. They don't spend a lot of time upgrading their arms before going to war; they just use what they have.

Myrks, on the other hand, aren't usually managed by sorcerers within human society. Nor do they spend much time collecting stuff they find. So it's not likely that they'd use weapons. Although, again, the Giants might.
