: worshipping folk. Perhaps the smiths of muirthemne
: were a subspecies of dwarfs, who lived in a different
: section of the mountains closer to spider territory
: and in order to placate these beings whoch could
: easily destroy them they began to offer sacrifices and
: eventually began to revere them as gods.
Well, the Forest Giants worship fire. And some humans (in this world) worship satan/christianity/small rodents. Why not worship something that will eventually destroy you? It seems the best way to get it to like you.
Besides, if you worship spiders and feed 'em tasty bits of dorf bits every once in a while, it keeps 'em from wandering around the dwarf settlements.
