I never said Myrkridia weren't intelligent; I just said they didn't make their own standards. The skull piles are built by instict, incidentally. :-)

As it turns out, Krids are slightly less intelligent than humans, on average. In the GURPS system, the average human has IQ 10; Krids and most other self-aware Dark units
(Ghôls, Mauls, Myrms, Mahir) have IQ 9. Of course, this general IQ measure relates to different details in each species. Mauls think hard but slowly; the others are innately as clever as humans but are intellectually handicapped by their mental quirks (Ghôls by their ignorance and lack of self-control, and Myrmidons and Mahir by their obsessions and loose grip on sanity).

Large Myrkridia have average human intelligence, and in fact they're all mages. (Yes, that exploding-skulls thing is a spell.) They're dumb for mages, though; most Myth sorcerers have IQ 13 or up. I guess Krid magic is more instinctive than learned. They automatically rule the Krid packs when they're around, then wander off to chat about magic with other giants.
